My Fixture Won't Power On

My Fixture Won't Power On — What Should I Check?

If your fixture will not power on and shows no signs of operation—such as movement, display activity, indicator lights, or other response—there are a few basic checks you can perform before contacting Elation Service & Support.

1. Check the Power Source

Confirm that the fixture is receiving the correct line voltage and that the outlet, power distribution, or circuit being used is functioning properly.

If possible, test the fixture from a known working power source.

2. Check the Power Cable

Inspect the power cable and connections for any visible damage or loose connections.

If available, try a known working power cable that is compatible with the fixture.

3. Check the Fuse, If Applicable

Some Elation fixtures are equipped with a user-accessible external fuse. If your model has one, disconnect the fixture from power and inspect the fuse.

If the fuse has failed, replace it only with the fuse type and rating specified for the fixture.

Important: Some fixtures have internal fuses that require opening the fixture for access. Opening a fixture may expose you to hazardous voltages and should only be performed by qualified service personnel.

4. Still No Power?

If you have confirmed that:

  • The fixture is receiving the correct line voltage

  • The power cable is functioning properly

  • The external fuse, if applicable, is good

  • The display, indicator lights, and fixture still show no response

We recommend contacting Elation Service & Support for additional troubleshooting recommendations before opening or disassembling the fixture.

When contacting Support, please provide the fixture model, serial number, and a description of the troubleshooting steps you have already performed.
